Abstract
250,442. Cameron, W. J. July 20, 1925. Electric and magnetic appliances.- A device for testing the sensitiveness and vitality of teeth or the like, bv the intermittent passage of an electric current, comprises a holder 10 of hard rubber, bakelite, &c. in which is mounted an induction coil comprising a core 25 adjustable by means of a slide 21 and surrounded by primary and secondary windings 17, 19, and a switch arm 28 which is moved by means of a finger-piece 33 over contacts 27 so as successively to make and break the circuit. The primary winding is connected at one end bv a wire 16 to a plug 14 for attaching to the mains, and at the other end to the switch 27, 28. The terminals of the secondary winding lead to a socket 41 and plunger contact 43, which make contact with the conductors 49, 50 passing through a glass tube 48 adjustably attached at 47, the projecting ends 49<a>, 50<a> of these conductors being brought into contact with the tooth &c. under test.
