Kinematograph apparatus. - In a light-tight case for a roll of film, fitted with a pin or projection around which the roll is placed, means are provided for moving the pin &c. so as to press the film against the case to prevent unwinding during transport, and for moving it towards the centre of the roll to release the film for use. Fig. 1 shows a film case, having one side removed, and comprising compartments b c, blocks d d<1> round which the film passes, and exit and entrance channels f g. The film roll k is placed round a projection i on a rotatable plug h in one side of the case, the plug having a lever externally fixed to it so that the projection may occupy the position shown in full lines, to press the roll against the wall of the compartment, or may be turned to the position shown in broken lines to free the roll. The lever may be urged by a coiled spring or by a tensile spring against a stop retaining it in the position shown, and the end of the lever may project beyond the corner of the case to prevent the case from being placed in the camera with the lever in the position shown. In the alternative position, the lever may extend towards and not beyond the other upper corner of the case. In a modification, shown in section in Fig. 5, a pin p within the roll of film is carried by a slide c moving longitudinally within a groove s formed in the side and covered by a plate t. A projection q passes through a slot v in the plate t to engage a stop within the camera when the case is inserted therein, the slide o being then moved against the action of a spring in the groove s. According to the Provisional Specification, the plug h, in the construction shown in Fig. 1, may be provided with holes to receive a loose spanner.
