Breech actions, drop-down barrel; stocks; trigger guards.-The front of the butt-stock 3 of a drop-down gun is formed with two projections 4 fitting into corresponding recesses 2 in the breech body 1, the sides of the stock thus being laterally supported. The plate carrying the trigger guard 7 is connected to the top tang 6 by two screws 8 having their heads in the trigger plate and their ends screwing into apertures which do not extend right through the tang. The rear part 10 of the trigger plate is detachable to facilitate the fitting of the operating lever 11. The rear part 10 is connected to the main plate without screws by two dovetail projections 13, Fig. 6.
