Abstract

249,470. Whittingham, G. H. March 23, 1925, [Convention date]. Ribbon resistances, cored. - Relates to rheostats, such as those described in Specification 236,898, comprising an edgewound resistance coil on a core of refractory insulating material surrounding a metal bar, and consists in an arrangement of these bars in a frame. The bars b are formed with notches 1, 2 engaging as shown with bolts 4 joining flat side pieces 3. The bolts 4 are enclosed in insulating tubes 6 of mica &c. The bars b are separated by distance-pieces 8, metal washers 9, and insulating washers 7. To the sidepieces 3 are secured supports 8 with turned-over end 5<a> by which a number of frames may be secured together.
