Abstract

248,858. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Ltd., Perkin, W. H., and Hollins, C. Dec. 16, 1924. alphaalpha-Di-and tri-anthraquinonylureas are obtained by condensing alpha-anthraquinonylurethane or anthraquinone-a-urea chloride with a-aminoanthraquinones; a : a-diaminoanthraquinones such as 1: 4-, 1: 5-, or 1:8- diaminoanthraquinones, diaminonoanthrarufin, or diaminochrysazin are particularly suitable. According to examples a mono-urea is obtained from a-anthraquinonylurethane and diaminoanthrarufin and a diurea from diaminochrysazin; the products dye acetate silk in brown and blue-grey shades respectively. Specifications 24920/09, 1807/10, 9841/11, and 211,720, [Class 1 (i), Chemical processes &c.], are referred to. a-Anthraquinonylurea chloride is obtained by treating with phosgene below 50‹ C. a suspension of a-aminoanthraquinone in nitrobenzene.
