1 : 4 : 11 : 41 tetrahydroxy-2 : 21-dianthraquinonyl is obtained by the action of piperidine or its homologues or derivatives on quinizarin at ordinary temperatures, with or without a diluent. Aryl-piperidines, or hydrogenated quinolines containing a piperidine ring are also specified as suitable agents. Specification 10074/03, [Class 2, Acids and salts, Organic &c.], is referred to.
