Abstract

247,792. Melsom, F. May 4, 1925. Stays. - A telescopic stay for holding casements and doors in an adjusted position comprises inner and outer tubes 2, 1 hinged at their outer ends, the inner tube being provided with notches 7 with which engages a spring catch on the outer tube in the form of a pin 11 mounted across a carrier 10 closed at the top and housing a spring 12. To release the inner tube the member 10 is depressed by hand in the cylindrical guide member 9 secured to the outer tube 1, whereby the pin 11 is disengaged from the notches 7, 8 in the members 2, 1 respectively.
