247,263. Barbour, T. Nov. 7, 1924. Spinning-machines; spindle apparatus; winding-on motions.-In machines for spinning rope yarns, binder twine, and the like the bobbin B is positively driven and its speed relative to that of the flyer A is governed by a cone and differential motion, the usual haul pulleys being dispensed with. The flyer is driven by gears a<2>, a<3>, and the bobbin is carried by a tube b<1>, which is splined in a collar b<8> on a gear wheel b' and is reciprocated by a rack b<5> and pinion b<6>. The gear wheel b<7> is driven by a pinion b<10> connected to a cone and differential motion. The flyer is supported by ball bearings a<1>, a<6>.
