Tube expanders; drawing dies and mandrels.-Tools for drawing metal, and described particularly with reference to a die for drawing through tubes to bring them to size, comprise a working portion b of hard alloy containing little or no iron, set in a body part of ordinary metal a. The alloy may have as its basis chrome-nickel, or an alloy sold under the registered Trade Mark "Stellite," and may be set in the cavity in the body part by welding or casting. The cavity in which the alloy is set may be of dove-tail or other crosssection. The working surface may be constituted by a series of segments which overlap in an axial direction to prevent the formation of ridges in the work.
