Abstract

246,463. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. Jan. 23, 1925, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes. - In a valve having two or more electrodes lying on the same cylindrical surface, one of these electrodes consists of a number of rings, or groups of rings, or wire windings lying close to or in contact with each other, the other electrode or electrodes consisting of mutually-connected rings or wire-windings located between the groups. As shown a grid is formed of a helix wound with three wires 1, 2, 3, and the anode consists of a single wire helix 4 with turns spaced from those of the grid. The helices may be wound on a grooved tungsten mandrel, attached to supports 5, 7, and annealed, the mandrel being subsequently screwed back out of the cylinder. The wire may be of round or flat section. The filament 9 is mounted axially. Specification 240,963 is referred to.
