Abstract

A structural floor panel 1 of a building comprises a top panel 11 and a base panel 10 with a hollow space (12, fig 3) between them, an inlet and an outlet connection on the floor panel 1 and through which a flow of heat exchange medium flows and communicates though the hollow space (12). The inlet and outlet may have self sealing valves (18, 19) connected to a water flow and return pipes 3. The panel 1 may be supported by pedestals (2, fig 2), which may incorporate the valves (fig 10). A plurality of dome shaped integral strengthening projections (15) may extend from the base 10 towards the top 1 land may be welded to the top 11. A heat reflecting layer (20, fig 6) may be applied over the face of the base 10 to reflect back heat. A ceramic heat conducting means (25, fig 8) may be applied to the upper surface of the panel 1 to act as a heat sink to store heat and assist in heat transfer to a room. The panel 1 may be inverted so that a dimpled side (30, fig 9) is uppermost for enhanced heat transfer to the room. A plurality of floor panels 1 may be provided.
