Reciprocating-saw machines. - Pressure is brought to bear on the saw during the cutting stroke by the action of a cam swell 1<a> on the driving disc 1, which cam engages an adjustable brake pad 2 carried by the pivoted guide 4 on which the saw frame slides. The pivot of the guide is formed by an eccentric boss 14 at the back of the disc 1. The driving-clutch (not shown) is operated to stop the machine at the bottom of the cut by the action of the guide 4 in pressing on the counterweighted lever 7 so as to actuate the clutch by means of a lever 8.
