Abstract

Ironing-machines with pressing action only; work-supports for ironing-machines; clamping shirts to ironing-machines. - The press head 2, Fig. 1, is carried by a lever 4 pivoted at 5 and provided with a rear extension 4a carrying a counterweight 3. A link 7<a>, provided with a forward extension 7 which passes over the front of the press to serve as an operating handle, is pivoted at 8 to the extension 4<a> and constitutes in conjunction with an adjustable link 11 pivoted to the machine frame at 13 and at 9 to the link '7, a pressure-applying toggle. One end of the padded buck 1 is recessed to accommodate a rib b<1>, Fig. 7, to which is slidably secured a transverse web 16 which, in conjunction with a horseshoe shaped shackle 21 pivoted exteriorly of the buck and swung downwardly to engage the outside of the neck-band of a shirt placed around the rib b<1>, constitutes a neck-band stretcher and clamp.
