Abstract

244,684. Boutle, G. T. Sept. 10, 1925. Lever lids; stoppers with pouring outlets.-In a paint &c. can having a removable lid 2 extending over the whole width of the can and united to the wall thereof by a band 3 which can be torn away, the filling orifice 4 is closed by a cap 7 which has a double grip on the edges of the orifice, the upper edge of the cap being roller over the beaded rim 5 of the orifice. The wall of the filling orifice may be cylindrical or upwardly tapering, and the wall of the cap 7 may be grooved outwarly as at 10 to engage a similar groove in the wall of the orifice.
