Abstract

A roulette game machine includes a segmented wheel 2, the segments of the wheel being denoted by colour and each segment having an associated ball receiving pocket (3, fig. 3) such that players may wager on which colour of segment a ball 4 spun around the wheel 2 will come to rest. The machine may include means, e.g. a button (10, fig. 5), which allows a player to release the ball onto the wheel. The machine may include optical means for detecting the presence of the ball in a pocket, e.g. vertical light emitter (15, fig. 7) and apertures (14, fig. 7). Wagers may be placed via player consoles, e.g. LCD screens (8, fig. 5), and the machine may be played by inserting coins or tokens. The machine may include more than one ball 4 of different colours, and the wheel segments may include symbols as well as colours. Means, e.g. moveable pocket floor (16, fig. 7), may be provided for returning the ball(s) to the start position at the end of a game (see fig.'s 4, 7 and 9). The machine does not electronically control the payout percentage.

SPIN 2 WIN AMUSEMENT MACHINE HOW IT WORKS
A 'SPIN2WIN' game machine has been developed with an electrical motor (1) driving a spin disc (2). The electrical motor (1) is engaged with the edge of the spin disc (2) and disengaged once the spin disc (2) has reached its spinning speed by the solenoid actuator (20). (Drawing Pages 1 and 2). The spin disc (2) can have more than two ball sockets (3) in it, so that the ball (4) can randomly land in them. The more ball sockets (3) in the spin disc (2) the more the variation is in the chances of the outcome being random. (Drawing Page 3).
The ball (4) is fired into the running track (5) by way of the pneumatic firing mechanism (6) (Drawing Page 4). The ball (4) can also be fired by a mechanism spring (not shown). The centre of the spin disc (2) can be domed or like a pyramid or conical in shape. (Drawing Page 3).
The colour of each ball socket (3) is extended from the outside edge (7) all the way up to the centre of the spin disc (2). This adds a colourful optical effect when the spin disc (2) is rotating (Drawing Page 3).
The player of the game selects his choice of colour that he wishes to play on, by touching the same colour displayed on the LCD display screen (8). (Alternatively, this could be a range of separate colour press switches in a panel of the machine). (Drawing Page 5).
To play the game, the player hopefully selects one of the colours by pressing the appropriate coloured button (9) on the LCD display screen (8). (Drawing Page 5). The electrical motor (1) will then rotate the spin disc (2) up to speed then disengage its drive by the solenoid actuator (20) (Drawing Pages 1 & 2). The flashing fire button (10 - optional) will be pressed by the player. (Drawing Page 5).
The ball (4) is located in the pneumatic ball firing system breech (22). The ball blower fan (18) will start up and fire the ball (4) out of the pneumatic ball firing system breech (22)
and into the firing tube (23) and then into the running track (5). The ball (4) can be fired in a clockwise or anti clockwise direction according to which part of the pneumatic ball firing system breech (22) it has landed in. (Drawing Page 6). The ball (4)
will then shoot out and spin around the running track (5) until it lands in a socket (11) of the rotating spin disc (2). (Drawing Pages 3 & 4).
The ball (4) is detected by an electronic mechanism underneath the spin disc (2). Firstly, an optical detector (12) counts the appropriate number of ball sockets (3) around the spin disc (2), by way of slots (13) in the outside edge (7). At the bottom of each ball socket (3), there is a hole (14) which allows a vertical laser beam to shoot vertically through the hole from the laser beam unit (15). (Drawing Pages 6 & 7).
When the ball (4) passes over the laser beam, it automatically reflects back, giving off a signal. This is referenced with the optical detector (12). This will then give the correct or incorrect colour the ball (4) has landed in. The greater number of single colours the player chooses to play with, the more chance he has of winning, but lower the level of the prize. (Drawing Pages 7 & 8).
The floor (16) of the spin disc (2) is then lowered allowing the •
ball (4) to escape the spin disc (2). The floor (16) is lowered by the servo motor drive (17). (Drawing Pages 3 & 4 & 9). The ball (4) is pushed around to the pneumatic ball firing system breech (22)
by an arm (21). (Drawing Page 7).
The other variations of the game can have two balls (4) spinning around the running track (5). Number or symbols can be added to the colours, to add a variation of games.
The amusement machine may be fitted with a variation of coin mechanisms and other types of payment systems.

    WHAT WE CLAIM
1/ An amusement game with a rotating disc with ball sockets on the outside edge identifies by colour stripes with or without numbers or symbols added to the colours.
2/ An amusement game where one or more balls of different colours can be fired around the running track to land in the sockets around the spin disc.
