Abstract

Slings.-An indicator is provided at the junction of the chains h, i forming the sling, in order to show directly by the inclination of the chains the load which can safely be lifted by the sling with the chains spread to that angle. The scale may show actual loads or proportions of the maximum safe, load. As shown in Fig. 1, graduated plates are mounted beside the chains. As shown in Fig. 3, the ring m connecting the two chains to the crane hook f is formed with a graduated web m<1> and the safe load is read opposite the end links or the chains.
