Abstract

243,832. King, H. Sept. 13, 1924. Sounding - apparatus. - Apparatus of the pressure type comprises a single tube A, closed at its lower end by a cap B, and having at its upper end a cap D with a small aperture d for direct entrance of water by downward pressure. The cap D is screwed on to a ring C secured to the tube. The outside of the tube is marked with graduations a for measuring the quantity of water which enters. Baffles may be provided to prevent water from being shaken out during withdrawal of the tube.
