Abstract

243,530. Mitchell, G. A. Dec. 4, 1924. Thermionic amplifiers; receiving sets, construction of.- A plug-in unit is constructed to carry some or all of the components which require to be added to an existing set to obtain further amplification and adapted to engage one of the valve holders. The Figure shows a base 1 carrying valve holders 2. 3, the legs of the holder 2 being adapted to engage with an existing valve-holder on the set. Terminals 7, 8 are provided to connect the batteries and terminals 9 to connect a transformer or a resistance capacity coupling which may be for high or audio-frequency. Alternatively valve holders engaged by plugs may be used in place of terminals. In a further modification a tuned anode circuit with a crystal detector is added. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 205,148.
