Abstract
408,965. Thermionic valve-adapters. KOLSTER-BRANDES, Ltd., and MILLER, T. D. WARD-, Cray Works, Sidcup, Kent. Oct. 18, 1932, No. 29109. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] An adapter for use with the output valve of a wireless receiver has associated with it a condenser for byepassing energy to an additional loud-speaker, and connections for extension to this loudspeaker. As shown, the adapter consists of a moulded member 2 of insulating material, which has sockets 7 for the reception of the valve 6 and pins 8 for inserting in a holder, and encloses a condenser 3 connected through leads 5 with terminals 4. The condenser may be moulded in the adapter. One of the leads 5 is connected with the cathode socket, and the other with one side of the condenser, the other side being connected with the anode socket. In a modification, the adapter consists of a disc fitting over the pins of the output valve and having sleeves making contact with the anode and cathode pins.
