Abstract

243,259. Matticoli, A. June 9, 1925. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Lock - mechanism, operated by non-rotating key; revolving-barrel; padlocks. - In a lock of the type having spring - actuated sliding plates, each provided with a groove, the grooves being brought into alignment by a stepped key to release the lock, the sliding plates 1, 2, 3 are apertured and mounted on rods 6, supported at each end and carrying springs 7. Fig. 8 shows the application of the invention to a padlock where alignment of the grooves 8 permits a pawl 15 on a bolt 14 to rise and so free the shackle 17. A tail 19 on the shackle releases the pawl from the grooves when locking. In the application to a cylinder lock a segment 16, Fig. 6, drops into the aligned grooves and allows the barrel of the lock to turn.
