243,099. Brougham, L. E., and Accounting & Tabulating Corporation of Great Britain, Ltd. Sept. 4, 1924. Perforating.-In a card or sheet to receive perforations for statistical purposes the portion of card at each perforation position is differentiated from the body of the card a so as to render the portion readily removable. This differentiation may be secured (1) by surrounding each perforation position by a circle, polygon, or square of holes or slots or indentations c, (2) by forming the card of several layers of material of which one is a continuous layer of tissue paper and the others are layers perforated at all the perforation positions, or (3) by treating the card with a wax size or unsaponifiable oil wax except at the perforation positions, each perforation necessary being finally made by sulphuric acid or a caustic alkali respectively.
