Diaphragm horns.-A rigid disc e is mounted in front of but independently of the sound-producing diaphragm a and serves to direct the sound to the circumference of the casing. The disc may be mounted on a resilient plate f provided with sector-shaped apertures which are partially covered by the disc e except for arcuate strips at the edges. Alternatively the disc may be rigidly mounted. The diaphragm a may be vibrated by an electromagnet c the armature of which is bolted to the centre of the diaphragm, as shown.
