Abstract

242,400. Copleston, C. E. Sept. 30, 1924. Golf-practising appliances.-Relates to a captive golf-ball appliance of the type in which the ball is mounted on a universally pivoted rod and, as shown, comprises a rod b mounted in gimbals b<2> and provided at its lower end with a spring extension b<4> terminating in an india-rubber block b<s>. The rod is mounted in a metal container a' having a slotted top partly covered by a rubber mat A, which serves to protect the club head. In use, the ball B is struck and rotates with the rod b until the block b<5> comes in contact with the rubber mat. Indicators a<7>, a<8>, a<9>, having triggers a<3>, a<4>, a<5> situated in the path of the ball, indicate the direction of stroke.
