Abstract

242,395. De Dion Bouton, Ltd., and Taylor, E. H. Sept. 23, 1924. Folding and sliding seats; adjustments. - A vehicle seat of the folding X-frame type, and in which one of the cross frames forms the front legs and the seat back support while the other frame forms the back legs and the seat support, has the feet of its front legs pivoted to the body of the vehicle and the feet of its rear legs mounted to slide in a horizontal guide provided by or secured to the vehicle body. Fig. 1 shows such a seat having rear legs 6 provided with pins 13 slidably engaging channelled bars 12, while the legs 5 are pivoted at 10 to slides 11, which may be locked in adjusted position within the bars 12 by a pin 17 engaging holes in a fixed plate 18.
