Abstract

Plant containers made from or covered with artificial grass to prevent access of slugs and snails to the plants growing in the pots. The material may also be used to form belts, mats sleeves or rings, to fit round pots or around plants growing in open ground. The grass may be used in combination with other materials and textures such as bark, stone, wood or leaves.

Description

241 6657 Artificial Grass plant Plant containers covered on the outside
with artificial grass mats, belts, containers etc. sleeves and rings similarly covered which are slug & snail unfriendly.
Technical field. This invention relates to plant containers which are covered in artificial grass to repel slugs and snails.
Background. Slugs and snails are enemies in most gardens. Their appetite for certain types of plants is well known.
By covering plant containers with artificial grass, apart from the visual attractiveness of the resulting containers, it has been shown that slugs and snails are very reluctant to climb the material surrounding the containers. All efforts to persuade them to access the food on top have failed.
This leads us to conclude that the invention could be of significant help in protecting plants against slugs and snails.
Similarly, Mats and other shapes can be places around plants in beds or other areas to deter slugs and snails.
(see Figure 1) Essential technical The essence of the invention resides in pots and other plant containers features which have been covered in artificial grass, thereby dissuading slugs and snails from climbing them.
Mats, belts, sleeves, rings, fences and other shapes made from or covered with artificial grass placed under, around or on top of the containers, or flower beds or other areas where plants are growing, allowing room for the plants to grow up or out, can also deter slugs and snails.
Various shapes of pots including conical, cylindrical, square, spherical, cubed, multi-sided and free-form shapes can be covered in artificial grass by gluing, stapling and other methods of fixing so that the appearance is of a grass covered container.
Other materials such as artificial leaves or bark, metal or stone, terracotta etc can be incorporated into the designs.
