Abstract

The mat is for placing around the stem of a tree or shrub after planting to inhibit the growth of grass or weeds. The mat is biodegradable and formed from paper and polymer. The mat may have a central aperture or be cut from it centre to an outside edge. The mat may be perforated to allow water to pass through it and may be impregnated with weed or grass killers.

Description

T-PATCH SYSTEM for WEED AND GRASS MAINTAINANCE ON TREES THE SYSTEM When or after planting a tree or shrub a predesgn t patch is slip through the stem of the tree or shrub and the patch is placed at ground level and pegged down with predesign wire peggs which will hold down the patch The patch will let in air and water but will not let grass or weeds grow around the area of the t-patch essential to promote tree growth The t-patch can also be imprenated with a suitable weed and grass killer such as roundup SPECIFICATIONS T-patch materials consist of a paper and polymer T-patch will have prefortation air holes such as tea bags Wire peggs will be 75mm in length with a 50 mm L shape handle Wire peggs can be made of ordinary fence wire Patch size can be varible from 400mm square size to 150 mm square size or 150mm diameter BENEFITS OF THIS SYSTEM Due to labour expense and the expense off chbmical weed killer operations and also the labour expense of hand weeding also weed killer not being environmental freindly The t-patch is a simple and non expensive alltemitive maintainance of young trees and shrubs and will last for at least four to five years
