Abstract

241,091. Barnes, H. March 9, 1925. Golf clubs.-In a golf club of the type wherein the head may be adjusted angularly in relation to the shaft, the shaft is provided with a. number of substantially annular tongues adapted to fit into corresponding recesses between substantially annular tongues on the head, and means are provided extending through the tongues for drawing them closely together. The lower extremity of the shaft 1 is formed with a number of tongues 3, Fig. 2, which mesh with similar tongues on the club head. A bolt 10, Fig. 1, tightened by a square-ended key, Fig. 8, passes through the tongues and clamps the parts in adjusted position. In a modified construction, Fig. 9, for use by a right or a left hand player, the adjustable attachment is situated at the central portion of the club head instead of at the heel. A graduated scale 20 facilitates the correct setting of the head.
