Abstract

241,051. Picot, F. S. Dec. 20, 1924. Coat and like hangers.-In a clothes hanger of the type comprising a rigid member and an extensible member stretched alongside it in such a manner as to grip a garment placed between the two members, the extensible member consists of a helical wire spring. One or both ends of the spring are detachable from the rigid member. The hanger is shown combined with a coat or like hanger comprising an arc-shaped member 1 of wood &c. The ends of the arc are connected by a bar 2 along the under side of which is stretched the helical wire spring 3 provided at the ends with hooks, eyes, or the like to engage corresponding fastenings on the bar 2. The bar 2 may be covered with rubber or other material in order to increase the grip on the garment which is inserted.
