Abstract

Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles.- In a lubricator of the kind comprising a cylinder and screw-operated piston b, the outlet end of the barrel communicates through a non-return valve o with a high pressure chamber m in which a membar s is axially movable to apply additional pressure to the lubricant. The member s passes through a stuffing-box q and is provided with means t for moving it axially. The barrel a may be filled' by removing the chamber m, connecting the open end of the barrel to a lubricant container, and withdrawing the piston. The nut engaging the piston rod is in two parts f adapted to be disengaged from the rod c by a spring-pressed wedge h when a cam ring g is turned to release the parts f.
