Abstract

317,650. Gold. C. W. Sept. 4, 1928. Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles.-A lubricator comprises two containers 4, 5 attached to a central member 6 and housing a threaded rod 11 which carries one or two pistons 12 and is engaged by a nut in a worm wheel 13 driven by a worm 14 and crank 15, allowing a high pressure to be developed. The rod 11 is prevented from rotating by a keyway engaging keys on washers 16. When the rod is at the end of its stroke with one piston at the inner end of one container and the other piston at the. outer end of the other container, the former container is detached and filled and then replaced with the delivery pipe 9 attached to it. The crank 15 is then operated to discharge this container, after which the other container, now empty, is detached, filled, and replaced, ready to be emptied by reversing the operation of the crank. The delivery pipe is attached to the discharging container and the end of the other container is closed by a removable cap 7.
