Abstract

240,911. Murdoch, H. B., and Broughton, T. July 8, 1924. Seat adjustments; rocking seats. -Relates to wheeled invalid chairs having a framework with side rails forming handles at their upper ends and curved forward at their lower ends to receive the front legs, as described in Specifications 21920/12, 104,946. and 204,952. The seat or back or both are pivoted so that the occupant may retain an upright position when the chair frame is tilted, e.g. in wheeling up or down stairs. A seat with interconnected back and leg-rests is described, and a segmental bar y and set screw w may be embodied to retain the chair in any adjusted position. The seat is shown supported on springs, but may be mounted on a transverse axis to tilt with the weight of the user.
