Contents, facilitating access to.- In a receptacle for a powder-puff and powder of the type having a sieve of gauze or fabric between the lower powder - containing part of the receptacle and the upper part for the puff, the sieve is so mounted as to be readilv removed or displaced to expose the full or substantially the full opening in the receptacle for the introduction of the powder. The body a, Fig. 2, of the receptacle is of leather, the upper edge being turned over and secured to the vertical part of a flanged ring a<1>. The vertical part of the ring a<1> has internally projecting tongues a<2>, Fig. 3, to retain a ring b to which the sieve c is secured. The ring b has gaps b<1> to permit the passage of the tongues a<2> when the ring is rotated for removal. Studs d may be provided for manipulation of the ring b. A helical spring e disposed within the body a holds the latter normally in distended condition. A cover f is provided which may have a highly polished interior surface or may have a mirror attached. In a modification, the upper part of the body a, Fig. 9, is secured to a ring g having hinged thereto a second ring g' which is dished to contain the puff and has secured to it the sieve c. The rings g, g<1> fit snugly one within the other so that they are friction tight. A cover h is hinged to the ring g. The body of the receptacle may be of rigid material.
