Abstract
A roof panel resembling a tiled or slated roof comprises a metal, e.g. aluminium, base tray, surmounted by insulation, and having under the top skin pipes for circulation of a fluid to be heated by solar gain. The panel may resemble curved tiles as shown, with edge overlap, or abutting panels may be joined by a capping (Fig 8/9, not shown): the panel may resemble clay tiles or slates (Figs 4/9, 5/9, not shown), and may be mounted using fixing brackets; a compressible seal may be used between adjoining panels.
Description
Tip Composite Premanfactured Adved Roof ng Panel Incorporating a Solar
Gait' System Background Description
The System provides the Construction Industry with a modern composite advanced interlocking Fast Fixing roofing panel in aesthetic form Appearance, shape, and colouring of conventional tiles, slates, and pantiles which can incorporate thermal insulation and also a Solar Gain System The Panels are designed to compliment fastbuild /wooden framed housing progralTunes and to complete the weather in process much quicker than conventional roofing on developments with the use of relatively unskilled fitters. It can also be used on Industrial, Commercial, Leisure and Agricultural Buildings.
Description Example - Composite Roofing Panel drawing 2 made out of top layer
ref I of moulded/pressed GRP Plastic acrylic glass finish or metal incorporating a sandwich of insulation ref 2 below to replace conventional loft space glass fibre quilt and a solar gain system ref. 3 of metal Stainless steel or plastic pipe matrix in between all laid/fixed in a metal former tray ref 4 as one complete or several panels to span the roof. The solar gain matrix pipe system drawing 6 is linked to conventional house hot water storage/ heating system via manifolds and the Roofing Panels drawing 7 are designed to be quickly fixed by in situ fixing brackets drawing 8 ref 5 to be screwed on to conventional wood roof rafters/trusses Vertical joints see drawing 8 are sealed with clip on weather seals ref 6 and also ridges and side pieces.
Desorption Manufacture of Preformed Roofing Panels drawings 3/4/5 Factory produced on preformed metal trays and incorporating solar gain continues pipe mattrix, with a sandwich insulation/board below. The top coat ref will be moulded /pressed in plastic GRP acrylic or glass to reflect finish/shapes appearance and colouring of conventional clay tiles, slate or pantiles and the whole can be a complete single roofing panel or multiple. Alternatively it could be in a metal finish.
Description Manufature Solar Gain Matrix drawing 6
The Solar Gain Continuos Pipe matrix collection system of metal stainless steel or plastic drawing 2 ref 3 is laid close to the top surface of the panel and is filled with glycol based liquid to prevent freezing and will warm with the effect of the sun and is pumped round the matrix in zone areas and collected at the relevant areas of zoning by a manifold collector and thence to the conventional hot water storage heating exchange cylinder system.
