238,948. Novocrete & Cement Products Co., Ltd., and Burney, C. D. May 27, 1924. Slabs; materials, special, for slabs.-Buildings and dwellings are formed of large precast cementitious slabs, which are made comparatively light in weight by forming them of a matrix of cement, concrete, or like substance to which is added mineralized or impregnated fibrous organic material such as that described in Specifications 244,178, 245,812, 249,899, and 253,007, [all in Class 70, India-rubber &c.], or loose short pieces of wire or strip metal, such as are described in Specification 240,561. The wall slabs A, Figs. 3 and 19, have ribbed flanges to interlock and be bolted together, and internal ribs a<6>, a<7>. The interior lining a<6*> may be a plain or ribbed slab or any suitable sheet material attached to the outer slab; gas and water pipes and electric leads may be embodied in the slabs during manufacture. The outside faces may be treated to represent stone or brickwork, rough cast, or half timber, and sound-deadening material may be placed in the hollow walls. The partition walls are similarly formed. The roof slabs may be formed at one end with gutters and may be moulded to imitate slates or tiles. Fig. 18 shows the foundation course K of the wall, a damp course L, and floor section F. The floor slabs are formed at the ends with ribs a to interlock with the wall slabs, and may extend from wall to wall. Other slabs are provided with channels for flues and openings for fire-places, doors, windows, &c.
