Abstract
238,450. Wade, H., (Murray Products Co.). Jan. 6, 1925. Treadle mechanism.- A vehicle of the foot-pro. pelled type for children in which longitudinal suspension springs are connected directlv to the front and rear axles has the cranked rear axle connected to the connect. ing-rods of the driving-mechanism and to the springs by flexible connections, such as universal joints, thus permitting a full floating movement of the rear axle relatively to the body. The vehicle is propelled by means of treadles 25, 26 pivotally and adjustably mounted in the forked front ends of connecting rods 30, 31, which are pivoted to oscillating links 38 and to cranked portions of the rear axle 12. The universal connections between the rear axle 12 and the connecting-rods 30, 31 each comprise a bracket 52, 53, Fig. 4, engaging a bulged portion of a member 54 containing a roller &c. bearing 57.
