Abstract

A dust sheet holder, for use on stairways, is comprised of an adjustable rod with a spring loaded mechanism. The device is fitted between the vertically extending side panels of a stairway, and held in position by the outward pressing action of a metal spring. The holder has the spring fixing inserted into one end and a secure fixing at the other. The latter fixing can be locked into either of two fixed positions thus allowing the length of the rod to be adjusted. For stairways which are of a non-standard width, an extension rod may be fitted. This is attached by a screw fitting. The ends of the rod may have plastic or rubber caps attached to prevent marking or damaging of the stairway.

DUST SHEET HOLDER FOR STAIRS 1) This invention relates to an adjustable dust sheet holder for the use on stairways.
2) Where dust sheets are located on stairs they inevitably move.
3) The object of this invention is to prevent the movement of the dustsheet by securing it to the stairway.
4) The holder will be put in position between 2 points on the stairway to prevent the movement of the dustsheet.
5) Preferably the holder will be made of either metal or plastic material with plastic or rubber caps at both ends to restrict markings on the fixed points.
6) For standard length stairways the dust sheet holder comprises of 1 rod that has a spring inserted in one end with a secure pull out plastic fixing adjustable to two different lengths in the other end as in figure 1 7) For non standard length stairways an extension rod will be able to be used with figure 2 and 3 to extend the holder to any length as in figure 2-3 8) Although the use of springs and exentsion bars are not original it is the application that is original

Claims (6)

  3. 3, An adjustable dustsheet holder as in Claim 1, where the coiled metal is forced to compress to enable it to fit snugly into position in-between the staircases.
  4. 4, an adjustable dust sheet holder as claimed in any preceding claim will also hold in place any temporary material covering that is used on staircases.
  5. 5, An adjustable dustsheet holder as claimed in any preceding claim which is made from metal or plastic material, or from a combination of these materials.
  6. 6, An adjustable dustsheet holder substanially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
