Abstract

A cramp attachment kit comprises seven parts which can be used in conjunction with known sealant applicators to provide either two separate cramps, or one long adjustable cramp. The kit may include two end plates 1, two 90{ plates 2, two circular plates 3 and an extension piece 4. The end plates may allow two sealant applicators to be joined end to end, and the extension piece may be placed between them.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
CRAMP ATTACHMENT KIT This invention relates to a cramp attachment kit, comprising of seven main components to be used in conjuction with sealant applicators.
Such cramps are well known, but suffer from the disadvantage that, they can be heavy and of some length, making them clumbersom to carry about in an average toolbag or toolbox, and they are relatively expensive.
An object of this invention is to provide a lightweight cramp attachment, when used in conjuction with well known sealant applicators, it is quick to assemble and fits easily into an average toolbag or toolbox, and provides a wider range to its usage.
Accordingly, this invention provides a lightweight cramp attachment kit of seven main components, when used in conjuction with known sealant applicators, allows various adjustable cramping lengths to be achieved, and when not being used as a cramp, can still be used as a sealant applicator. When used in conjuction with two known sealant applicators, the cramping length increases greatly, or it can be used as two separate adjustable cramps. The sealant applicator provides the pressure and the quick release actions of the cramp.
Preferably the attachment is made of metal and plastic materials.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIGURE 1 shows a known sealant applicator 5 ; FIGURE 2 shows the components that make up the attachment kit, seven components in total. component 1-2 of component 2-2 of component 3-2 of component 4-1 of FIGURE 3 shows sealant applicator plus components 1 and 2, to form a cramp ; FIGURE 4 shows extension to cramp, by moving position of component 2; FIGURE 5 shows two sealant applicators joined together with components 3, to form the cramp components 1 are hooked in place either end of 6; FIGURE 6 shows two sealant applicators joined together by means of extension component 4 and components 3, to form the cramp components 1 are hooked in place at either end of 6;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
As-,, own in Figure 1, the sealant applicator 5 has a hooked horizontal bar 6, which mc-s inward towards 8, when handle 7 is pressed together.
The quick release button 8 is pressed to release the pressure from the horizontal bar 6, allowing free movement backwards.
Figure 2 shows the components that make up the attachment kit, including two end plates, two 90 degree plates 2, two circular plates 3, and one extension piece 4.
Seven main components in total, components 2,3, 4, are attached to 5 by means of small bolts with wing nuts, or similar fixings.
Figure 3 shows component 2 in place on sealant applicator 5, component 1 hooks in place on horizontal bar 6 forming the cramp. objects to be cramped together are placed between 1 and 2.
As shown in Figure 4, component 2 can be moved to a different position on 5, which extends the length of the cramp operation.
Figure 5 shows two sealant applicators 5 joined together with components 3, allowing cramp length double of that in figure 4. Objects that are to be cramped are placed between components 1.
As shown in Figure 6, using extension piece 4 allows the cramp position to be lengthened again for wider objects to be cramped.
As in Figure 5 and Figure 6, pressure can be applied at either ends of the cramp by depressing 7, and released by depressing 8.

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A cramp attachment kit of seven main components, which can be easily carried in an average toolbag or toolbox, when used in conjuction with known sealant applicators, is lightweight, quick to assemble and can be either used as two separate adjustable cramps or one long adjustable cramp, the pressure and quick release is provided by the sealant applicator.
  2. 2. A cramp attachment as claimed in claim 1, using two of its components attached to one sealant applicator forms a lightweight adjustable cramp, which allows pressure and quick release to be created at one end, the sealant applicator can still be used for it's origonal purpose.
  3. 3. A cramp attachment as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, using four of its components, and two sealant applicators to form two separate lightweight cramps.
  4. 4. A cramp attachment as claimed in claim 1, using four of its components attached to two sealant applicators forming a long adjustable cramp, which allows pressure and quick release from both ends.
  5. 5. A cramp attachment as claimed in claim 1 and claim 4, but using the extension piece between sealant applicators, lengthens the cramp in size again.
