Clutches, claw. - In a sausage filling and linking machine, the twisting mechanism is operated by a clutch, Fig. 5, in which a gear wheel 94 having projecting pins 95 is intermittently rotated by a continuously rotating disc 84 carrying a pivoted lever 85 urged towards the disc by a spring on the pin 88. The lever 85 engages with one of the pins 95 until the lever is raised by a cam plate 92.
