Abstract

236,945. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Underwood, L. E.). July 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Brush-holders.-A stud for a brush-holder is made of the material known under the registered Trade Mark Bakelite or the like, threaded at one end to receive a nut by which it is secured to an arm 13, a key 17 preventing rotation of the stud on the arm. A collar 11 hinders sparking between the brush and the arm 13. The stud is covered with a metal sleeve 14 the edge of which is turned over to engage with a groove in the stud. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the collar 20 is separate from the stud, and the stud and collar are provided with metallic reinforcements, the reinforcement 21 in the stud being formed with an expanded head, as shown.
