Systems depending on the use of two or more machines.-Dynamo-electric machines are automa.tically shut down on falling load by means which put each machine out of operation at a proportion of its full load depending upon the number of machines in operation together at the time. The underload coils 20 of a number of rotary converters mav be opposed by coils 12 - - 14, one .for each machine, the current flowing through them being increased in dependence upon the number of machines running by a relay switch 2 which is actuated by coils 22 - - 24, one of these being excited by each machine when in circuit. In an alternative relay switch the solenoids operate to press spring contacts upon one another in sequence.
