Abstract

235,665. Leabank Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Kent, F. W. March 27, 1924. Doors, wagon.-Closures or doors for railway vans &c. are formed in two parts hinged along the top and bottom edges of the door frame, and the two parts are interconnected so that movement of one causes movement of the other, and the bottom part tends to counterbalance the top part when in open position. In one form, the parts 1, 2, Fig. 1, are connected by a cord 6 passing from the part 2 over fixed pulleys to a rearwardly-extending lever portion 5 fixed to the upper part 1. In a modification, lever-and-link gear 5, 6, Fig. 2, forms the interconnecting mechanism.
