Abstract

A vehicle steering wheel security device comprises inner and outer semi-circular members which can be locked together, such as with a separate padlock, so as to prevent access to the steering wheel. The inner member can pivot about a central point so that when not in use the inner member may rotate inside the outer member to reduce the space required to store the security device. A tab may be provided on the inner member to assist in its rotation, and an additional horizontal arm may be provided so as to increase security.

This invention relates to a steering wheel clamp, Steering wheel clamps are one of the most commonly used security devices for motor vehicles.They cover or clamp the steering wheel, acting as a deterrent, as it is clearly visible to anyone attempting to steal the vehicle. The position of the clamp when in place, immobflises the steering thus preventing the theft of the vehicle.
Current steering wheel clamps on the market work very well however storage can be a problem when not in use.
This wheel clamp has been designed with storage in mind, without compromising on security.
One side of the clamp revolves into the other by means of a centre pivet, which when at this stage makes it easy to store, e.g under car seat.
A specific embodiment of the spin lock - wheel clamp is described below(fig I etc).This is to accompany the attached diagrams.

Fig 4 - Shows a through drawing showing hidden detail, and the security aspects of this design.
Refem'na to the drawings, fig I shows the clamp in the open position ready to be fitted, lifting horizontaly covering the left half of the steering wheel.
In order to close the device as shown in fig 2, simply pull locking tab around the steering wheel as lefl hand holds main body secure.
Fig 3 shows shut position ready to be padlocked.
in order to remove wheel clamp removal is reversal of fitting.
