Abstract
234,519. Gubin, R. May 23, 1924, [Convention date]. Bronzing and the like.- In making a bronze or ink composition foil particularly for use in embossing, a molten composition is applied to a carrier web a from a melting pot, bronze or ink powder and Zapon varnish are next applied from a container j, the layers are fused to form a homogeneous coating while passing over a heater o, the web is caused to travel in a long path to allow the foil to solidify and is warmed at p to allow the foil to separate from the web. Moisture is expelled from the foil by a heater q, the foil and web are brought together again, the former is cut into sheets at s and the latter is wound up into a roll c. The thickness of the molten composition and the bronze are regulated respectively by blades f and m. The composition may comprise Zanzibar resin or shellac, asphalt, and a fat, or oil such as a resin oil.
