Abstract

233,932. Rogers, R. C. July 22, 1924. Stencils. - A stencil sheet is attached to the carrier bar 17 of a rotary duplicating-machine by providing the head portion 10 of the usual backing sheet 10<b> with a series of tabs or projections 14 having slots 16 for engaging studs, pins, hooks, &c. on the bar 17, the sides of the tabs acting as guides in entering the slots on the studs. Preferably slots 19 are formed in the bar 17 to receive and guide the tabs. The arrangement facilitates raising of the stencil off the perforated segment of the duplicator without disturbing the attaching means. To protect the tabs while passing the stencil, backing, and cover sheets through the typewriter, creased or perforated lines 15 outlining the tabs are formed at a short distance from the end of the head portion 10, the superfluous part 10<a> being subsequently removed or folded back. Tabs 14 may be provided at each end of the backing sheet where attaching means are required at both ends.
