Abstract
233,877. Wall, G., and Metropolitan- Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. May 9, 1924. Induction motor mevers.- The potential magnet is constructed of laminations of the shape shown in Fig. 6, the side limbs 10 having salient poles 11 which project towards the meter disc with small air gaps as shown, the ends being substantially in the same plane as the end of the central limb 9. Encircling the salient poles 11 are closed conducting loops 12, 13, Fig. 3, for friction compensation. The loop 12 is carried by a plate 16 having a slot through which pass screws 17 by which it is adjustably secured to a non-magnetic bridge 15. A vernier scale 18 on the plate 16 co-operates with a scale 19 on the bridge 15 to facilitate adjustment of the loop 12 lengthwise of the pole-piece 11. The end of the bar 16 may ben bent at right-angles and provided with a screw bearing against the top of the bridge 15 to facilitate adjustment. The loop 13 may be similarly supported or, as shown, it may be carried by a plate 20 secured by a screw 21, adjustment not being provided for. A quadrature-adjusting loop 14 encircling the central limb 9 is carried on a plate 22 and adjusted similarly to the loop 12. The brake magnet 7, Fig. 9, is pivotally mounted by means of a screw 25 on a fixed plate 26. Attached to the magnet 7 is a plate 27 having a vernier scale 30 co-operating with a scale 31 on the fixed plate 26. The plate 27 is slotted and fixed by a clamping-screw 24.
