Abstract

A four sided duvet cover which has one sewn edge 10, with three pairs of open edges 11,21,12,22,13,23 fastened by a number of means. Closure of these open edges which will form the three remaining sides of the duvet is possible by either zips, buttons, ties, Velcro, press studs, hooks and eyes, buckles, or a combination of the above.

Description

1 DUVET COVER This invention relates to a duvet cover.
2336531 Conventional duvet covers have three sewn edges and the fourth edge has an opening into which the duvet is inserted. This invention has only one sewn edge, the three remaining edges are open and are securable by several methods of fastenings which will be described in due course.
As the conventional cover has only one open edge by which the duvet is inserted, this can create a problem with larger duvets, e.g. double duvets, king-size duvets. The difficulty which arises with conventional covers is due to the dexterity required to manipulate the duvet to the four corners of the duvet cover with ease.
The object of this invention is to provide easy manipulation and insertion of the duvet into the cover and into the four corners.
Accordingly, the essential features of this duvet cover are:- 1. Three out of the four edges are not sewn together. These three edges will be secured after the insertion of the duvet by a selection of methods i.e. zips, buttons, ties, Velcro, press studs, hooks and eyes or buckles. 2. One sewn edge which is recommended to be that edge which is nearer to the head of the bed/pillows.
The invention will be described further and with more detail using diagram as displayed below.
Figure 1 shows the open duvet cover Referring to the drawing, the duvet has a sewn edge 10 with open edge 11 folded down at crease of edge 10 to meet open edge 21 and is secured in place using one of the previously mentioned methods of fastening. Similarly, open edges 12 and 13 are folded down at crease of edge 10 to meet open edges 22 and 23 respectively, and are secured into place using one or combinations of the previously mentioned methods of fastening.

Claims (8)

1. A duvet cover which has three open edges to allow placement of duvet after which can be closed and secured.
2. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of zips.
3. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of buttons.
4. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of ties.
5. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of Velcro.
6. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of press studs.
7. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of hooks and eyes.
8. A duvet cover as described in Claim 1 which is closed and secured by means of buckles.
