Cylinders, rotating; illumination, changing advertisements by controlling. - In structures for exhibiting advertisements of the type comprising a column provided with windows disposed circumferentially and containing an advertisement carrier intermittently rotated about a vertical axis to exhibit the advertisements successively at each window, the column B is stationary and more than one circumferential group of windows 7 is provided. The internal carrier may be driven through worm and Geneva stop mechanism by an electric motor 8 in the base A, the motor having its axis horizontal and at a distance from the axis of the column B. The column may be built up of standards 6 about which sheeting is mounted, and the standards may be visible near the top, where a transparent cylindrical casing D may be provided. The column may be topped as shown, or may extend to a ceiling. The column may be illuminated internally and externally by concealed lamps 13, continuously or intermittently lit. Clockwork mechanism may be provided for automatically switching the motor and lights on and off at predetermined times.
