Abstract

232,854. Groves, W. W., (Timken Roller Bearing Co.). Sept. 12, 1924. Roller bearings for sets of rollers of a roller conveyer are mounted so that the adjustment of all the bearings may be made from the end bearing. The hub 6 of each roller 3 has an enlarged opening 7 at each end which receives the cup 8 of a conical roller bearing. Roller bearing cones 10 are mounted on tubes 5 over the ends of which are slipped thimbles 12. The rounded ends of adjacent thimbles abut in recesses in the brackets 2, and the flanged ends 12a bear against the cones 10. An adjusting nut 15 is mounted on the outer end of the tube 5 of each outer roller, and by turning these nuts the adjustment of the whole of the bearings is effected. The flanged ends of the thimbles and flanged members 18 serve to retain lubricant.
