Abstract

232,845. Eichorn, A. M. Aug. 25, 1924. Protectors, securing ; protectors, construction of; countersunk tips.-In a resilient heel pad of the kind comprising a main part for attachment to the heel proper and a renewable wearing tip held against a shoulder on the main part in a rotatable manner, the tip 18 in anchored by means of a headed stud 19 which engages a keyhole slot 13 in a plate 12 embedded in the main part 10. The slot 13 is arranged with its broad part 13<1> towards the shoulder 11, so that the tip must be flexed and moved rearwardly to anchoring position. The tip is preferably convexed and may have wearing ribs 26, 27. To prevent undesired rotation of the tip, two lugs 22 on the main part engage any adjacent pair of four recesses 23 equally spaced around the tip, so that the latter may be held in four different wearing positions, which may be indicated by four points 25 on the tip which register successively with a recess 24 on the main part.
