Abstract

232,149. Richter, W., and Schmidt, A., (trading as Richter & Schmidt, Osnabr³ck, Gasmesserfabrik). Feb. 3, 1925. Gas-meters.-A wet gas-meter comprises two or more counterbalanced bells 3 dipping into liquid seals contained in communicating immersion chambers 16 and adapted to oscillate about independent turning axes 4, 5 arranged in one horizontal plane. Gas enters the meter through a channel 26 and is admitted to and exhausted from the measuring chambers 1, 1<a> above and below the bells through slide valves 11, 12. The slide valves are operated by a crank shaft 10 having crank pins 10<a>, 10<b> which are arranged at an angle to one another. The crank shaft 10 is rotated by the reciprocating bells acting through a lever system 6, 7, 8, 9. The gas admission is cut off if the liquid level in the chambers 16 fails excessively by means of a valve 25 operated by a float 23 arranged in a cylinder 21 communicating with the chambers 16.
